He has hosted Brown & Hurley’s 80th anniversary dinner, the AWCI trade awards and Bridgestone’s 300-guest gala, and performed for Telstra, Woolworths and AMP. He keeps an event running to time and he is the funniest person in the room.
He works just as well in a black-tie ballroom as he does in front of four hundred tradies. Gala dinners, national industry awards, conferences, festivals, Christmas parties and sports lunches, Rob has hosted all of them, and he is at his best in the Rob Brown is a corporate MC and comedian with more than twenty years in front of Australian business audiences. rooms other MCs find hard.
His composure is not a stage trick. Before comedy, Rob spent more than a decade as a maximum-security prison officer, trained police recruits in Iraq and managed security operations in Afghanistan. A run sheet twenty minutes behind, a speaker who does not show, or a room that has been at the bar since five, none of it rattles him.

As MC he prepares from a full briefing, introduces every speaker properly, keeps sponsors looked after, supports fundraising and auctions, and holds the energy between segments so the night never goes flat. He trained in improvisation at the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles, the school many Saturday Night Live performers came through, so a collapsed run sheet just becomes material.
As a comedian he writes for the room he is walking into: clean where it needs to be, sharper where it can be, and never at the expense of your people.
Rob has also shared stages with sports legends such as Alfie Langer, Andrew Voss, Fatty Vautin, Jeff Thomson and Chris Lynn, and is a regular on the sports lunch circuit around the country.
